Looking Through

Not sure what about this image i liked the most but i stood out to me.

In this picture the lighting and texture of the material captured my attention.

The darks and yet the brightness of the yellow stood out to me, and no it isn't a sponge. Im not sure what this was.

This was one of the fist pictures I took for the abstract assignment, and is still the image I like the most. To me the way the material is laying and the shape it gives makes it lose its natural form. You also seem to get lost in the black hole, but brought back from the lines.

  2. Your sense of color and design is fantastic! I appreciate how close you get to your subjects and how you fill the camera frame with you compositions. The closeness of your shots and the vibrancy of color and texture give these images a sense of intensity and intentionality. Keep thinking about how shape and line move a viewer's eyes across a picture. Consider how light and shadow can further confuse space and distort perspective. There is a wonderful tactile quality to these images. In the bedspread image, for example, the shadow becomes a shape that starts to confuse space. Abstraction is definitely your strength. As you continue to shoot, play with depth and flatness and consider the relationships between forms placed in the foreground and forms placed in the background. Also, as you continue to photograph more representational subjects, do not compromise your strong sense of design; remember that design, texture, and color can add intrigue, mystery, and structure to an otherwise ordinary subject. Great Work! I look forward to seeing more pictures.
