Stained photos

Stanied

Stained

When looking at an everyday car, you might just see four wheels and metal. You think of a car as a means of transportation and nothing more.  I thought the same things when I first looked at an automobile.  But when looking deeper into the detail, and paint a canvas appears. A whole new world of cars comes to life.
I got this original idea from our abstract assignment. I was having a hard time thinking of what could fall under the category of abstract. When walking around my local blocks I started to notice that the faded paint on cars made designs, along with the rust. Older cars that have seen more ware and tear from Mother Nature and humans tend to work better for this project.
My goal during this project was to make automobiles look like they had someone paint on them or stained the original paint. To successfully do this I had to look at cars for a period of time and take shots from different angles, and zoom in to where the car aspect seemed to disappear. My main goal was to represent cars more than just cars, as almost a moving artwork. A piece or moving art that seems to go undetected by the everyday glance.

Place

Street

A day at the airport. Driving around taking pictures of people leaving and coming. The airport holds so many different  emotions from happiness, sadness, and confusion.

Color

The color project was different, you really had to look at a subject and the area around it to see the main color theme.

The pattern caught my eye, and the image repeating itself.

I felt that the color was very strong in this image, and the bird on the ledge added to the image i thought.

A red and windy day.

Night Light

In this image, what stood out to me was the same pattern repeated.

Thought this would be a cool shot while i was sitting at a light. An I took the shot right as the light changed from green to yellow.

Parking lot

Just really liked this shot, the lights really brought out the structure of this building.

life at the train station on a dark rainy night. The rain on the ground helps reflect the light.

Reflection, mysterious.

Had fun shooting this light assignment, wish next time i have a tripod.

Looking again

More images I liked and forgot to post. Hope you like them too.

Looking Through

Not sure what about this image i liked the most but i stood out to me.

In this picture the lighting and texture of the material captured my attention.

The darks and yet the brightness of the yellow stood out to me, and no it isn't a sponge. Im not sure what this was.

This was one of the fist pictures I took for the abstract assignment, and is still the image I like the most. To me the way the material is laying and the shape it gives makes it lose its natural form. You also seem to get lost in the black hole, but brought back from the lines.

The Hunt

This picture stuck out to me because the image can be seen two different ways. It can be just an old blacktop worn down or when you look deeper you can see a cloud reflected onto the blacktop.
The image to me is more the just a sneaker. It brings out color, and I think color is the main focus. The red of the sneak, the red in the flowers, the brick wall, and the red wooden post all add the the image to bring it together.

When looking at this picture closer, the lines from the telephone wires give this image shape and definition, and the main st sign in the foreground help add to the depth of the photo.
